Challenge: a site with nearly no images which needs to feel strong and visual.
Thinkshift Communications was started over cocktails, on a napkin, by my friends Carolyn McMaster and Sandra Stewart. They’re a team of strategists, thinkers, writers and campaigners inspired by the power of business to address pressing social and environmental problems.
They’ve always had an interesting take on things, so when they told me they wanted a new site design that was free of stock images and all the other usual tricks, after I told them they were crazy, I started thinking about it: could we design a site that’s nearly 100% text, and have the design feel smart and current?
I’ll let you be the judge, but personally I was pleased. They make sustainable sexy, and I did my best to help.
